A new flying taxi named “Blackbird” is being developed. From a distance, it may resemble the Batmobile from the fictional character Batman. This flying taxi uses a new type of propulsion system, allowing it to turn and move in any direction. Cyclotec, a company, has built this all-electric flying vehicle, which uses a motor similar to that of a tugboat, enabling it to move in any direction.
Using innovative propulsion technology, the taxi will assist passengers in taking off into the sky. Cyclotec, an Austrian company, has shared the design details of the flying car. The flying taxi will be based on the same principles used for tugboats and ferries on rivers. Cyclotec’s Chief Technology Officer, Tahsin Kart, mentioned that a circular device with small propeller blades inside is being used in the taxi. These blades are used for both propulsion and steering.
This device allows the flying taxi to easily change its airspeed and direction, helping it to be more controlled. This special rotor is used to provide passengers with greater comfort and safety during takeoffs, even in adverse weather conditions.
This unique flying taxi can take off vertically, breaking away from conventional designs. The current model can carry a maximum weight of 750 pounds and can fly at a speed of up to 118 km/h. The manufacturer aims to launch a full-size version by early 2025.
