Aberdeen, Scotland – Police Scotland has broadened its search for Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, two 32-year-old sisters reported missing from Aberdeen city center. The search now encompasses the River Dee's coast, extending towards the Port of Aberdeen's South Harbour and Duthie Park.
The sisters were last seen on Tuesday morning at approximately 2:12 AM on CCTV footage crossing Victoria Bridge in Market Street. They were observed turning onto a footpath next to the River Dee, heading towards the Aberdeen Boat Club. This crucial CCTV footage is being reviewed by investigators.
This escalation comes after their disappearance was reported on Tuesday. Police are also conducting extensive door-to-door inquiries and canvassing local businesses in the area. A significant police presence remains in the search area.
"Eliza and Henrietta's family is deeply concerned," said Chief Inspector Darren Bruce. "We are deploying substantial resources to locate them and urge anyone with information to come forward." He stressed the importance of any details, even seemingly insignificant ones, and asked individuals in the search area to recall their observations. Businesses in the South Esplanade and Menzies Road areas are specifically urged to review their CCTV footage from early Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025.
The sisters, originally from Hungary, relocated to Scotland seven years ago. Remarkably, their mother spoke to them for 40 minutes on Saturday without noticing anything unusual, according to their brother, Jozsef Huszti.
