A body has been recovered from a flooded area near Intake Lane in Beal, North Yorkshire. Authorities believe the man entered the water within the past 48 hours.
Initial reports indicate the man, believed to be in his early 50s to 60s, was found without identification or personal belongings. He is described as white with short light brown hair and stubble. Clothing details include brown walking boots, blue jeans, a multi-colored knitted jumper, and a possibly dark green waterproof coat.
North Yorkshire Police are actively seeking information to identify the deceased. They are urging anyone with potential information, including CCTV footage from the Eggborough and Knottingley area, to come forward.
"Despite extensive inquiries, we've been unable to identify him," said a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police. "Does this description match someone you know who could be missing?"
This investigation is ongoing. More details will be released as they become available.
