The intense sea activity has particularly affected coastal fishing communities. Despite the widespread disruption and damage to infrastructure and vessels, there have been no reports of fatalities resulting from the high waves.
In response to the dangerous conditions, authorities have closed approximately 80 ports and a number of beaches to ensure public safety. The ongoing high swells continue to pose a risk, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions. The situation is being closely monitored.
