Costco is recalling a batch of its Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion medicine due to a potential foreign material contamination. The recall affects products purchased between October 30th and November 30th in Midwest and Southeast stores.

The wholesale giant issued a statement on its website advising consumers who bought the affected lot to immediately check their purchases. The recalled products are identified by lot code P140082.

Consumers should not use any remaining product with this lot code and should return it to their local Costco for a full refund. For further information or assistance, customers can contact LNK International Inc. at (800) 426-9391 or by email at [email protected].

This recall follows a recent, larger recall of more than 10,000 cartons of Kirkland Signature organic eggs due to salmonella concerns. The FDA upgraded the alert level of the egg recall to "Class I," indicating a potential for serious health consequences or death. A "Class I" recall represents the most serious risk level from the FDA.

The company's decision to recall the cold and flu medicine was made out of an abundance of caution, focusing on preventing potential health risks associated with the contaminated batch.
