A 25-year-old man, Imran Chowdury, has been charged with assisting former soldier Daniel Khalife after his escape from HMP Wandsworth prison in September 2023. Chowdury, residing in Chingford, London, was arrested in January 2024 and formally charged in December.
He faces one count of aiding an escaped prisoner and is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Separately, no further action was taken against a 25-year-old woman also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in February 2024.
