A devastating terror attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day claimed over a dozen lives and left many injured. The suspect, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, drove into a crowd and opened fire before being killed by authorities.

Survivor Jeremi Sensky, paralyzed since 1999, spoke from his hospital bed, recalling how his wheelchair was destroyed in the chaos. Despite broken legs, he expressed gratitude, saying, “I’m alive.”

Dr. Jeffrey Elder from the University Medical Center reported that most injuries involved blunt trauma, with some victims suffering gunshot wounds. Another survivor, Paige Bryan, described the scene as “very traumatic.”

President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are set to visit New Orleans to console victims' families and meet with local officials.
