A 33-year-old Southampton man, Marvin Geddes, has been sentenced to four years in prison for a head-on collision with a police motorcyclist. Dashcam footage reportedly shows the collision occurred during a high-speed pursuit.

Geddes, driving a stolen Honda Civic, allegedly rammed PC Derek Hearn, causing serious injuries. He then abandoned the car and fled on foot.

The pursuit was described by officers as being at speed. Geddes's escape continued when he collided with a Peugeot, before abandoning his vehicle.

Geddes's actions were deemed a dangerous driving offence. He was found guilty on charges including attempting to cause actual bodily harm and driving without a license and insurance, pleading guilty previously.

The court handed down a 48-month prison sentence on January 10th.
