British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has denounced Elon Musk's ongoing criticism and the spread of "lies and misinformation" targeting the UK's democracy and his record. Starmer's remarks come in response to Musk's recent attacks, amplified by certain Conservative politicians.

The Prime Minister directly criticized Musk and fellow politicians for disseminating false information, characterizing their actions as an attempt to undermine the UK's democratic processes. Musk, the owner of social media platform X, has consistently targeted Starmer, even calling for fresh elections.

Musk's public criticism centers on Starmer's tenure as Director of Public Prosecutions, accusing him of failing to prosecute men responsible for sexual offenses against young girls.

Starmer has, in turn, vigorously defended his record. He highlighted his efforts to reopen and prosecute cases previously deemed closed, emphasizing significant changes in prosecutorial approaches during his time in office. Critically, Starmer argued that the primary concern wasn't Musk's social media posts, but the political figures in the UK actively amplifying them.

Starmer questioned the actions of those Conservatives who were seen as promoting the misinformation, suggesting their actions were driven by a desire for attention rather than genuine concern for the country's future. He warned that a disregard for truth would lead to a decline in democratic principles.

Musk, however, has continued to post criticisms of Starmer on X, responding to the PM's statements with accusations of deceit and calling Starmer "utterly despicable."
