A new poll published by FindOutNowUK has delivered a significant blow to Sir Keir Starmer's leadership, predicting a Labour loss of seats in a hypothetical general election. The poll projects Reform to become the second-largest party, challenging Labour's dominance and impacting the potential for a governing coalition.

The FindOutNowUK survey puts Reform and Labour neck-and-neck at 25 percent, while the Conservatives trail behind at 20 percent. Calculations based on the poll suggest Labour could lose as many as 173 seats, though remaining the largest party with 238. Reform's projected surge to 170 seats would see them capture seats currently held by key Labour figures, including Angela Rayner and Priti Patel. The Conservatives' diminished presence would leave them with only 89 seats, highlighting the potential need for a coalition involving the Liberal Democrats (70 seats) and the SNP (42 seats) to form a viable government.

This latest poll follows similar findings from the think tank More in Common, adding to the growing concern surrounding Sir Keir Starmer's leadership performance. The economic climate is also a major factor, with the pound reaching a year-low and rising government borrowing costs creating a backdrop of financial pressure.

Treasury Minister Darren Jones, in response to the economic concerns, warned of necessary austerity measures for public services. This economic instability further complicates the political landscape, adding another layer of complexity to the potential for future government formation.
