A JetBlue passenger at Boston Logan International Airport opened an exit door mid-taxi, prompting an emergency response and flight diversion. Authorities confirmed the individual will face charges and be arraigned Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. The passenger suddenly and unexpectedly opened an overwing exit door, triggering an emergency slide deployment.

JetBlue flight 161, bound for San Juan, was rerouted to another aircraft and landed safely at its destination. The airline thanked passengers for their understanding.
