LG has announced its 2025 lineup of gaming monitors, highlighted by the UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor, touted as the world’s first 5K2K resolution bendable OLED display. This announcement comes ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, setting the stage for a highly anticipated unveiling.

The 45-inch monitor boasts a resolution of 5120x2160, providing a wider viewing area than typical 4K screens while maintaining the same vertical pixel count. The 21:9 aspect ratio is designed to deliver a more immersive gaming experience, while offering solid content compatibility and suitability for productivity tasks when not gaming.

Notably, the UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor (model 45GX990A) features a variable curvature that can transition from flat to a 900R curve. LG's Dual-Mode feature allows users to adjust resolution, refresh rate, aspect ratio, and picture size easily. The monitor is also certified for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Further details, particularly regarding the maximum refresh rate, are still pending.

In addition to the bendable model, LG will also release a non-bendable 45-inch monitor with a permanent 800R curve, maintaining the same 5K2K resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. Both monitors share a 0.03ms (GtG) response time and support DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery. The 45GX950A model enhances text clarity with its RGWB subpixel layout, making it ideal for productivity use.

Furthermore, LG is introducing the curved UltraGear 39GX90SA, a 39-inch webOS-powered “home entertainment hub.” This monitor offers access to streaming services, similar to LG's smart TVs. The 39GX90SA retains the 21:9 aspect ratio and 800R curve, along with USB Type-C ports and an ergonomic, space-saving L-shaped stand.

While specific pricing and release dates are yet to be revealed, the UltraGear GX9 series will be showcased at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. Attendees can expect a first look at these and other new displays early next month.
