A 49-year-old man, Jazwell Brown, has been formally charged in connection with a violent incident on Christmas Day in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, resulting in the deaths of two women and serious injuries to two others. Brown appeared in court to face charges of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a knife.

Brown is accused of murdering Joanne Pearson, 38, and Teohna Grant, 24, both of whom were found deceased at the scene. He appeared via video link from HMP Bullingdon for a brief preliminary hearing at Luton Crown Court.

The defendant spoke only to confirm his identity during the brief session. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 21, with a provisional trial date set for June 17.

Police responded to the incident at a block of flats in Bletchley on Christmas Day at approximately 6:30 PM, where the two women were found. Additionally, two other individuals, Bradley Latter, 29, and a teenage boy, sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. Both are reported to be stable and recovering from their injuries.

In addition to the murder and attempted murder charges, Brown faces accusations of possessing a knife in a public place. He is also charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, a Staffordshire bull terrier involved in the incident. Initially reported as deceased, the dog has now been confirmed to have survived.
