A 40-year-old man was discovered asleep at the wheel of his car after it reportedly crashed into a house in South Yorkshire on Monday. Police found the man in the vehicle following the incident, prompting an immediate investigation.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers suspected the driver was intoxicated, with further assessments indicating he was likely over the legal alcohol limit. The driver was reportedly drifting in and out of consciousness at the scene.
Due to his condition, the individual was unable to provide a roadside breath sample. Furthermore, the driver required assistance from police to exit the vehicle and was unable to walk independently, necessitating support to reach the police transport.
Subsequently, the suspect was also deemed unfit to provide a breath sample while in custody. Consequently, he was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
