KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19, 2024 – Yayasan PETRONAS is extending its support to underprivileged communities across Malaysia this Christmas season through its Uplifting Lives Festive (ULF) initiative. The foundation is providing essential and festive food packs to 2,350 families in 11 states, aiming to bring joy and ease during the celebrations.
These festive packs, which include both essential food supplies and specially sourced festive cookies, are being distributed in collaboration with the Welfare Department and PETRONAS’ regional offices. The cookies were produced by entrepreneurs from the MEKAR program, a Yayasan PETRONAS initiative designed to empower communities.
Shariah Nelly Francis, CEO of Yayasan PETRONAS, highlighted the initiative's aim to foster unity and community spirit. “Spreading festive cheer through acts of kindness has a profound positive impact on bringing people together,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of giving back to those in need.
This Christmas distribution is part of a larger effort by Yayasan PETRONAS to support communities during major festive celebrations. Throughout the year, the foundation has distributed festive food items to a total of 11,850 families, demonstrating its commitment to community well-being and development. The ULF program is a core component of Yayasan PETRONAS' community support endeavors.
