Ariana Grande, celebrated singer-songwriter, playfully accepted the Rising Star Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 4th. Presented by Emmy-winning actress Jennifer Coolidge, the award marks Grande's first major accolade of 2025.

Grande, in her acceptance speech, highlighted her long career, jokingly thanking Botox and Juvederm for her continued vitality on stage. She quipped that she anticipated being recognized as a "slightly withering star" or "drooping star" in the future. Grande also commended director Jon M. Chu and co-star Cynthia Erivo, recognizing their contributions to her portrayal of Glinda in the film Wicked.

Reflecting on her background, Grande emphasized her early passion for comedy, beginning her professional career at age four performing stand-up for her grandparents. This early experience, she noted, solidified the importance of laughter as an escape and a source of inspiration. Grande's transition from music to film is further celebrated by festival chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi, who lauded her "undeniably talent" and predicted further recognition in acting.

The performance of Grande in Wicked has garnered critical acclaim, earning nominations at awards ceremonies including the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards. The film, a star-studded production, also features Erivo as Elphaba. The upcoming sequel, Wicked: For Good, is slated for release in November.

Adding to the event's accolades, Grande addressed her beauty procedures. While confirming past use of Botox and lip fillers in 2024, she stated that she stopped these procedures in 2018. She also clarified rumors about other procedures, expressing openness to a facelift in the future. Other notable attendees at the event included Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, and Timothée Chalamet.
