A body believed to be one of two British hikers missing since January 1st has been discovered in the Italian Dolomites. Local rescue services located the body buried under snow on Wednesday, after resuming a helicopter search.
The missing hikers, Aziz Ziriat (36) and Sam Harris (35), disappeared while hiking in the Trentino region of northern Italy. Their last known contact was via a mobile phone signal in a high-altitude area where the body was found.
Rescue crews located the lifeless body in a challenging snow-covered terrain. While one body has been recovered, the other remains unaccounted for and the identity of the found body has yet to be officially confirmed. This is an ongoing investigation.
