Tennis star Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, and rapper Cordae are no longer romantically involved, she announced on social media Monday. This comes less than a week before the start of the Australian Open.
Osaka, who won the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021, and who also holds two U.S. Open titles, shared the news in a concise statement, maintaining a respectful tone.
The couple welcomed a daughter in July 2023. Osaka returned to the tennis circuit last year after a 15-month absence.
In her statement, Osaka expressed positive sentiments towards Cordae, describing him as a "great person and an awesome dad." She acknowledged personal growth during their time together, highlighting the significance of her daughter as a source of profound joy.
Osaka's focus now shifts to the upcoming Australian Open, where she reached the final of a pre-tournament event in Auckland before withdrawing due to injury. The tournament begins at Melbourne Park on Sunday (Saturday EST).
